The Great Vending Get Together

Tim Varney’s idea to hold a ball in aid of his charity, Edukaid, became reality on Saturday 22nd October and raised an amazing £9,000 – almost enough to renovate an entire school in Tanzania. With the help of his family, encouragement from Alistair Price and others in the vending industry, and some marketing from the AVA, 130 of the great and the good from the vending industry met in Torquay. Golf was laid on by the irrepressible Paul Howard and an Agatha Christie trip by Richard Brinsley.

Thanks to all of you for your generosity, and thanks must also be extended to the auctioning skills of Brian Tustain! A huge vote of thanks must go to Tim, his family and everyone else who contributed to the night.

The AVA will be publishing a new social calendar very soon, which will show you the events planned for the next two years – the first of which is the Christmas Lunch as detailed below!

AVA Christmas Lunch

On Thursday 8th December we’ll be holding the AVA Christmas Luncheon at the stunning LSO St Luke’s, London – a former church and home to the world famous London Symphony Orchestra. If you’ve not already done so, make sure you book your tickets – there are only 200 places and the event’s selling out fast! Please email bridget@ava-vending.co.uk for full details and a booking form.

Northern Regional Meeting

Don’t forget that the Northern Regional Meeting will take place on Tuesday 8th November at the Holiday Inn, Leeds Brighouse. ‘How to stay out of jail and cut your costs!’ will be presented by Brethertons LLP Solicitors and Vendman Systems Ltd. There are still a few places left if you have not already booked.
