Selecta raises a mug full of money for Macmillan

Selecta has raised over a £1,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support, after organising a series of fun filled coffee mornings across the UK.

As part of the vending operator’s sustainable approach, 23 coffee mornings were held at Selecta offices and client sites to support Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, helping the charity towards raising its £8 million target for people living with cancer.

As well as enjoying coffee and cakes, one lucky customer won a 40” flat screen TV (Sponsored by Drench Water) and a Cadbury hamper worth £50, and nine runners up also won a Cadbury hamper by donating a suggestion £1 to guess the number of coffee beans in a jar. Five Selecta employees won one of four iPod shuffles and a music system through a raffle, kindly donated by Pepsi-co and Huhtamaki.

Jonathan Barr, Sales & Marketing Director, Selecta UK comments: “We are proud to have raised funds for Macmillan Cancer Support; it’s a very worthy charity that provides a huge amount of support for people living with cancer and their families. As part of our sustainable approach we’re committed to helping the community and I’d like to thank Selecta employees, suppliers and customers for their hard work and donations in making it a success.”

One text. One coffee. One life changed – To raise even more funds for Macmillan Cancer Support, Selecta also asked people to text VEND to 70123 and donate £3.00 to help make a difference to the lives of people who are diagnosed with cancer, their families and carers.
