Pour Moi Cups 2015 Group

Aimia Foods has announced the winner of its first Pour Moi cup design competition, which allowed students the opportunity to experience a fast paced, commercial environment while refreshing the company’s pioneering Pour Moi vending offering at the same time.

Aimia partnered with local college Wigan and Leigh and Wrexham-based cup manufacturer Benders throughout the competition, which saw 20 year old graphic design student Dean Mather scoop the grand prize.

The winning design theme centres on times and locations where consumers like to enjoy coffee – in the city, over the weekend and in the country – which each resonate strongly with the typical Pour Moi customer. Each will be printed in a mixed sleeve of 12 and nine ounce cups, both coming with the option of a sip lid as standard, for use in the innovative floor standing Pour Moi coffee machines from this month.

As the aspect of the hot drinks encounter that lasts the longest and really engages the customer, high-street quality cups remain at the very heart of a premium vended drinks experience and, as such, create a vehicle to positively reinforce Po

George Thomas, Brand Manager at Aimia Foods, commented: “Pour Moi’s tagline is ‘the art of coffee’ and design-led accessories play a significant part in the evolution of the brand. As a premium lifestyle concept, Pour Moi caters to every detail of the vending experience so the injection of fresh, new ideas is a great way to stay at the forefront of the sector. Dean’s three eye-catching concepts were chosen because of their memorability and each design’s ability to resonate with Pour Moi’s customers. This is the first time Aimia has invited students from a recognised course to design a vending cup, which was a great way for all parties concerned to do something a bit different and add young, fresh ideas to the mix.”ur Moi’s brand values. The vending cup is also ‘front line’ when it comes to achieving retail selling power, and Aimia is dedicated to supporting operators while championing premium coffee shop-style cups in the vending sector.

Dean added: “I tried to create designs that would appeal to the majority of people that would be using the cups whilst at the same time adding elements in line with my own interests. It was such a great experience to work with Aimia on a commercial and live project, and it really pushed me to think of day-today operations in a business sense. I was made up when I found out I won and wasn’t expecting it at all, I can’t wait to see the finished product being used and enjoyed by customers.”

With a full ‘Chain of Custody’ accreditation, all of Benders’ paper cups are manufactured in the UK using paper board from PEFC accredited sustainable managed forests, which means the new Pour Moi cups are as environmentally-friendly as they are consumer-friendly.
