Ian Roberts has joined International Paper as operations manager, with a responsibility to oversee production, quality control and health and safety at the global packaging company’s Winsford plant.
Having worked for 25 years in the packaging industry, Ian has experienced all aspects of the paper cup and packaging manufacturing process from cup mechanic to his current management role. Ian recently worked for one large international concern as a process engineer, travelling around plants and assessing the requirement for new products and investment in training and equipment in order to support best practice.
Managing director for International Paper Foodservice, Mike Turner is delighted to welcome Ian to the team: “Ian’s experience covers the whole spectrum and his background as a maintenance engineer means that he is well-qualified to handle the new tooling that the company has invested in. We’re at a pivotal stage in our development with the new equipment and various initiatives underway so it’s great to have fresh blood and enthusiasm to help drive our opportunities for growth.”
