Gearing up for AVA Live

Momentum is growing towards the vending event AVA Live which will be held on June 13 and 14 at the London Hilton Metropole replacing the bi-annual exhibition formally known as AVEX.

The AVA is celebrating its 90thanniversary this year and so to kick off proceedings it will be celebrating with a party on June 13th– the night before the Leadership Symposium on June 14th.

The party will host both AVA members and non-members and includes a free bar, around-the-world buffet, plenty of games, a 90-prize charity draw and much more.

On June 14, the AVA will welcome guests to its first Leadership Symposium which will present guests with a chance to make their business better, stronger and more profitable.

Industry leaders will lead workshops and seminars on topics such as finance, marketing, sustainability, plastics and recycling, micro markets and more.

The line-up of speakers includes special guest Alastair Campbell, the former spokesman, press secretary and director of communications to former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

Other speakers include Carla Balakgie, CEO NAMA who will be presenting updates and trends from the USA; and Joe Hessling founder and CEO of 365 Retail Markets who will be sharing his ideas on this growth area for vending and how you can be part of it.

An environmental debate will be held between Lord Deben, chairman of the UK’s independent Committee on Climate Change; Thérèse Coffey MP who was appointed Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs on July 17 2016; Peter Goodwin, director at Closed Loop Environmental Solutions; and Paula Chin sustainable materials specialist – WWF-UK.

A number of practical workshops will also be held to help members and guests improve their business. Leading the workshops will be  Steve Collins, The AVA’s membership services manager; Mike Saltmarsh Inglehurst Foods and AVA technical consultant; Martin Colston, a respected vending industry and insight consultant with over 30 years in the industry; Chris Skipper, operations and technical director, NVCS and AVA technical committee; John Andreotti, group service manager at Morvend and on the technical committees of both the AVA and AVS; David Irvine, European partner and EVA communications and public affairs manager; Phil Millard of Bluestorm Training, an expert in training and support to develop effective sales skills;  Philip Cripps of Thameside International, who will introduce you to “management in a minute” – dozens of ways managers can enhance their communications to motivate and retain great staff; Sam Ware, Tailor-Made Media, an experienced 21st century marketer. She’ll be sharing practical advice on using social media to grow your business and your profile.
