Cater Link wins the Primary Education 2011 Healthy Schools’ Caterer competition with California Raisins

All the entries for the 2011 Healthy Schools’ Caterer competition have now been judged and Cater Link has been chosen from the many entries as the overall winner in the Primary Schools section of the competition.

California Raisins has been running this competition for 6 years and since the competition began, hundreds of caterers from across the UK have entered. We have witnessed first-hand the superb work that has been put into schools catering and healthy eating.

Cater Link are currently responsible for 8000 children on a daily basis, one particular recent success for them is in the London Borough of Camden, where up-take of school meals has increased by 40%.

When asked why they use California Raisins, Neil Fuller MD said, “There is no substitute for the best.”

Tim Bates from the California Raisin Administrative Committee, who presented Neil with the prize, said, “The judges decision gets harder every year, all the entries were very impressive, Cater Link has done some amazing work in the primary school sector and are worthy winners.”

Cater Link, along with the winner of the secondary schools competition, Hampshire County Council Catering Services (HC3S), were awarded with a trip to attend the School Nutrition Association’s Annual National Conference in Nashville, Tennessee.
