On the 22 June the AVA held its annual Northern Golf Day at Wetherby Golf Course.
Wetherby Golf Club has long been the home of the AVA Northern Region’s Annual Golf Tournament, first organised by Jack West, and this was the fifteenth year where the main competition was played over 27 holes for the Jack West Trophy, with the Nestlé Trophy presented for the best Stableford score over the 18 holes in the afternoon round.
The winner of the Jack West and Nestle trophies with a massive 63 points in Stapleford over 27 holes was Ross Macdonald. A charity raffle took place, raising £225 on the day for MacMillian Cancer Support.
CEO Jonathan Hart commented: “The AVA Northern Golf day was yet again a great success. Now in its 37th year it really is a fundamental date in the vending calendar as it provides a great networking opportunity for our members. It is also testament to those involved that they took the time and effort to arrange a raffle to raise funds for the Macmillan Nurses charity. The AVA has supported Macmillan Nurses and the incredible work they do for many years and will continue to do so. We would like to thank all the attendees for their time and their generous donations.”
The AVA’s next golf day will be September 14th at Burnham Beeches.
