Tree planting scheme helps Selecta offset unavoidable carbon emissions

Selecta UK & Ireland, part of the Selecta Group, is underlining its commitment to reduce its carbon footprint with a successful tree planting scheme that is helping to counter the unavoidable emissions produced by providing vending services to its customers.

Working in partnership with Carbon Footprint, the UK Tree Planting Programme and its customers, the company has planted 695 trees since April 2010. This has resulted in Selecta offsetting approximately 695 tonnes of carbon over a tree’s natural life through a Verified Carbon Standard project (VCS).

The tree planting scheme is part of Selecta’s ‘sustainable approach’, the company’s long-term commitment to promoting ethical business practices and setting sustainable development goals which are integral to the way they do business.

Last year, Selecta was rewarded for its environmental efforts when it retained ISO14001 certification, demonstrating that it had been able to successfully identify and control the environmental impact of its activities, products and services and continue to improve its environmental performance.
