The 2018 event has seen an unprecedented number of entries from manufacturers, suppliers and operators in the vending and water industries, promising one of the most exciting awards ceremonies to date.

Categories for manufacturers and suppliers to the vending industry include Best Machine Innovation; sponsored by Lavazza, Best Payment System, sponsored by Siemens; Best Beverage Brand; Best Snack/Confectionery Product or Service; Best New Supplier Website and Best Customer Service Award (Team Award).

Operators also have the chance to shine in the following categories: Best Regional Operator (sponsored by Abbeychart); Best National Operator; Best Area Manager; Best Overall Operator; Best Service Engineer; Best Route Engineer; Best Route Operator; Best Customer Service (Individual Award) and Best Operator Website.

Commenting on the highly prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award, publication and event manager Jenny Thompson says: “This special award will recognise an individual who has served the vending industry for more than 20 years and played a significant role in its success. We are calling on members of the vending industry give someone the recognition they deserve by nominating them for this award.”

Nominees must be able to demonstrate the following: a clear commitment to working in the vending industry as a career; consistent application of good practice; examples of going the ‘extra mile’; excellence as a representative of the vending industry to the customer and wider business community; active membership of professional bodies and initiatives (associations, professional institutions, charities, etc) and a high level of respect amongst colleagues and peers.

The EDWCA Customer Service Award; the Supplier Recognition Award; Innovation Recognition Award and the Outstanding Contribution Award, sponsored by the EDWCA meanwhile, will shine a light on the important work of companies and individuals within the water industry.

“If your focus has always been on people and you fully understand the value that your employees give to your customers then quite simply you should nominate them for the EDWCA Customer Service Award. It’s your people that help to build your business so why not say thank you,” says the EDWCA’s Tracy Corroll, adding: “It’s the same if you have a supplier that gives you not only the products you require but the support by sourcing your end-users endless requests and do this whilst giving your business great customer service, why not nominate them for the EDWCA Supplier Recognition award and thank the sometimes un-sung heroes.”

Innovation is always at the forefront of industry whether it be a self-cleaning tap, a equipment the provides all types of water/beverages to a simple fitting that can increase our productivity. So where do we look for this? We look to our manufacturers and suppliers to continually challenge both the industry and the perception. The EDWCA embraces and encourages change and the EDWCA Innovation Recognition award is its way of thanking and encouraging these companies to continue moving the industry onwards. If you know a company that meets this simple criteria, why not nominate them today

Commenting on the Outstanding Contribution Award, the equivalent of the Lifetime Achievement Award in the water categories, Tracy says: “Many businesses and industries are built on firm foundations allowing for growth and progress to be driven on. The water cooler industry is no different. Over the years we have a number of characters that have helped to shape the way we do things and how our industry is perceived. There are those that lead from the front and stride forward taking many of us along for the ride and then there are those that counter the bold innovators and work studiously in the background making very little wave with their unmistakable impact! We all know who these people are!

“The EDWCA would like to thank these pioneers from the resounding to the hushed and that is why we are asking you…the water cooler fraternity…to recognise and nominate these individuals for the EDWCA Outstanding Contribution Award. Without these small acorns our oak tree could not have grown.”
