Tea Fusion at Howletts Wild Animal Park

howletts_logo_cmyk-green-gradientIn February 2016, the Coffee House at Howletts Wild Animal Park introduced Tea Fusion to its drinks offering. Offering a high quality cup of loose leaf hot or iced tea at the touch of a button, in under one minute, the Coffee House reports that Tea Fusion has driven volume and increased value by 50p per cup.

Helen McCarthy, group retail & catering general manager at The Aspinall Foundation, which operates Howletts Wild Animal Park, said: “This coffee house is very much a grown up café – we serve freshly made artisan sandwiches and barista Fairtrade coffee. From a customer attraction point of view Tea Fusion has been excellent. Customers see the machine brewing and they want a tea. Since we got the machine, sales of both speciality and iced teas have increased. About 20% of our hot drinks sales are now tea – which is quite remarkable when you consider the average out of home is just 5%. We’ve also increased the price of our tea by 50p a cup, and people are happy to pay it. On a summer’s day we might have 3,500 people across both parks, so something that enables us to get it right first time every time is a great help.”
