Operator’s Forum in Milan – a great success!

A group of dynamic and forward-looking independent operators, together with representatives of National Associations (from France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain and the UK) gathered in Milan to exchange views on current and future challenges in vending operations. They decided to set up the European Operators’ Forum to meet twice a year and focus on vending operators’ business issues. The event (22 June) was hosted by CONFIDA, the Italian Association in cooperation with the EVA.

“We could not have been happier at the outcome of the event, as all independent operators present decided to take the European Operators Forum forward. Operators shared their business experience with their European counterparts and set their own agenda of challenges to discuss in the future,” says Catherine Piana, the EVA Director General. “Both common issues and problems specific to some countries were discussed, for example the cash registers in Poland or DIA declaration for machines in Italy. Common concerns included finding qualified employees, showing added value and ensuring customer loyalty. The ambition of the Operators Forum is to discuss challenges and find solutions.”

Representatives from France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain and UK were present. The meeting was strictly limited to independent operators and representatives of National Associations, and was chaired by Fioravante Allegrino (SOGEDA srl), a Member of the Confida Executive Committee.

The next Operators’ Forum will take place in Rome on 8 September. Interested operators should contact their National Associations as the number of seats is limited.
