People are your biggest asset, support them through cancer
Published:  09 November, 2011

Each year, over 100,000 people of working age are diagnosed with cancer in the UK and many of the UK's six million carers are looking after a friend or relative with cancer. Cancer is becoming a significant issue in the workplace, with greater numbers of people at work or returning to work after a cancer diagnosis. That’s why Macmillan Cancer Support has produced The Essential Work and Cancer Toolkit, to help employers support people with cancer, and their carers, in the workplace.

Order your free Essential work and cancer toolkit today at: Macmillan.org.uk/worktoolkit

Inside, you’ll find:

• an employer’s guide produced in collaboration with the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD)

• practical advice on how to support employees affected by cancer and information resources to share with them

• expert guidance about minimising the impact of cancer on your organisation

• top tips for line managers to help them support their employees.

You can also sign up to our quarterly employer e-newsletters featuring best practise case studies.

By implementing a few small changes, businesses can make a big difference to the lives of employees who've been affected by cancer.
