MARS NUTRITIONAL CREDENTIALS

Mars is always looking for ways to improve the nutritional credentials of its best-loved brands and from autumn 2010, a number of Mars UK Chocolate’s core bars now benefit from a significant reduction in saturated fat. Mars, Snickers, Milky Way, and Topic now all contain at least 15% less saturated fat per bar compared with their previous recipes. This means they contain 40-45% less saturated fat than the current average of the top 25 UK chocolate brands per 100g. Moreover, this breakthrough has been achieved without any change to the taste or quality of these iconic products. The reduction, which will remove more than 600 tonnes of saturated fat per year from the UK diet, is the latest step in Mars’ ongoing commitment to improve its products’ nutritional composition.

Mars Chocolate is excited to announce that the luxurious and indulgent Galaxy brand is expanding with the nationwide launch of new Galaxy Bites - Bitesize spheres of smooth and creamy Galaxy chocolate with a heart of soft, sumptuous chocolate caramel, available to order from April. The launch of Galaxy Bites will form part of a huge £14m media investment that the Galaxy brand will see throughout 2011.
