The Cooler Recycling Group
Published:  09 May, 2011

The Cooler Recycling Group who are exhibiting at the forthcoming AVEX, have announced the completion of the first stage of the installation of Europe’s first fully compliant commercial fridge recycling plant at its new site near Rugby. The facility will accept ‘end of life’ commercial refrigeration equipment and panels containing blown insulation, for treatment and disposal.

The plant is a benchmark in the recycling sector, as the problem of large commercial refrigeration has to date been compromised in favour of the simple technology required to service the abundant but lucrative and easy to recycle, domestic fridges.

Bulky commercial display units and vending machines containing HCFCs and Pentene will be processed through the plant. As new best available practise, producers of ‘end of life’ refrigeration equipment and products containing blown insulation will be encouraged to sign up to this new technology .

This meets the requirements of legislation currently being enforced in some EU countries, such as Austria and in leading the way in the UK, CRS offer producers of ‘end of life’ commercial refrigeration equipment, full compliance in meeting existing and proposed legislation.
