BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions attended the Vendex North exhibition on the 15th November held at Old Trafford, home of Manchester United Football club. Vendex North is one of the most established and respected events for the UK vending industry.
The EVA’s 2011 AGM and Workshop on: “European Vending – Understanding current market issues and trends” will take place on 12 & 13 December, in Brussels. This year is an election year for the EVA Presidency and its Executive Committee. For this reason, the EVA is expecting a larger-than usual turnout of its membership at the Annual General Assembly on 12 December.

Tim Varney’s idea to hold a ball in aid of his charity, Edukaid, became reality on Saturday 22nd October and raised an amazing £9,000 – almost enough to renovate an entire school in Tanzania. With the help of his family, encouragement from Alistair Price and others in the vending industry, and some marketing from the AVA, 130 of the great and the good from the vending industry met in Torquay. Golf was laid on by the irrepressible Paul Howard and an Agatha Christie trip by Richard Brinsley.
The leisure industry has been important to vending for many years, and some of the greatest examples of vending in action can be found in leisure centres, theme parks and other places where people go to have fun. Leisure Industry Week (LIW) first ran in 1989 and quickly established itself as the trade show for the UK out of home leisure sector. LIW represents the entire spectrum of leisure operators including health clubs, theme parks, gyms, play centres, sports clubs, farm parks and bars etc.

The EVA held its 2010 Annual General Assembly and Conference “The ins and outs of European lobbying”, in Brussels. More than 60 companies and National Associations attended this 2-day event which commenced with a short but compact Annual General Assembly on the afternoon of 8 December. The Annual Report and the Business Plan for 2011-2012 were presented by Catherine Piana, and approved by the voters of the Association.
