The European Vending Association was pleased to have successfully delivered, what it considers the most influential event for the vending industry in 2009. The AGM and the round-table discussions that ensued, brought together top managers from the main companies and National Associations, representing the vending industry in Europe and abroad. The workshop gave much needed impetus to a dynamic industry ready to re-look and re-position itself in the world of automated trade.

Incorporating Nivex, Vendex 2009 is the only one day vending exhibition in the UK. Organised by Auto Vending, the show was held in the Manchester Suite at Old Trafford, home to none other than Manchester United Football Club, on Tuesday 17th November. Said to be the show the trade goes to for the latest innovations in machines, in addition to wide range of vended products and services, there was a free lunch laid on for visitors and a great time was had by all.
Since its humble beginnings at Rockingham Raceway in 2004, Vendex®, formerly known as Nivex, has become established as a firm favourite of the vending industry. Its format, which focuses on providing an inexpensive platform from which exhibitors can promote their goods and services, together with a strong emphasis on networking, has proven to be very successful and has definitely ‘hit a spot' in the vending industry, filling a niche for just such an event.

New on the vending scene is the Fed Well hot food system. Originally trialled earlier in the year at AVEX, it is an innovative joint venture between Pro-Pak Foods, one of the largest manufacturers of ready meals in the UK and Spanish vending machine giant, Jofemar. Together, they will be offering operators the opportunity to see for themselves the versatility of the new system and test out the quality of food on offer at Vendex [Stand F12].

With their new range of Instant machines, the Cafelino Duo and Trio, the Café Elite and the Empire, you can quickly and easily serve good tasting coffee or a cup of hot chocolate. Instant is the name of a whole series of machines that offer a wide variety of drinks. All Crem machines are very easy to care for, which minimises handling and are suitable for places where you would not expect to be served a cup of coffee.

rheavendors servomat UK will be demonstrating the recently launched Cino XS Grande which is already proving to be very successful.
The Grande offers both instant (SM) and espresso bean to cup (PB) versions and is, in many ways, a larger version of the existing XS range.

KioskCom Self Service Expo & Digital Signage Show Europe was another success this year when it took place in Olympia at the end of September. Although the show was smaller than the previous year due to recession cut backs in supplier budgets, the show still delivered a fantastic number of buyers across the two days.

Exhibitors and organisers were upbeat at the conclusion of Eu'Vend 2009, International Trade Fair for the Vending Industry, which came to an end in Cologne on Saturday, 12th September 2009. The event's stable exhibitor and visitor numbers bucked the general trend in vending trade fairs, demonstrating stability at a high level. The companies particularly emphasised the internationality and decision-making competence of the visitors.

Eu'Vend, the International Trade Fair for the Vending Industry will take place for the fourth time from 10th to 12th September 2009 in Cologne. Since its premiere in 2003, the event has established itself as one of the market's leading international vending trade fairs.

EurOps© 2009 took place at the Concorde Hotel in Berlin on the 26th and 27th March. In spite of tough economic times, the European Vending Association, organiser of the event, was pleased with the turnout, which gathered more than 150 participants. The participants, representing the whole industry, included ingredient suppliers, machine manufacturers and, of course, operators. Participants were also very satisfied with the conference, which has enabled them to meet and discuss with fellow colleagues about the vending industry in these particular times.

A good deal has been said about NIVEX, the new breed of UK vending exhibition, while far less is heard about the organisation behind it, NIVO - which, incidentally, comes of age this year.
