MEI is the leading global manufacturer of unattended payment solutions with 40 years' experience in the vending sector.
The company's latest innovation is Sonar Technology which replaces optical sensors to measure the exact amount of money in the tubes. Even in the cleanest of vending machines, dirt can accumulate within the change-giver and effect the operation of optical sensors.
Learning from this MEI was determined to make the CashFlow® 7000 an optic-free system, and came up with a revolutionary and innovative sonar technique. Sound is emitted from the top of the payout tube and bounces off the top of the coin stack in the tube. From the speed of the returned sound the unit is able to deduce accurately the number of coins in the stack and, therefore, the value of money tied up in change. When coins are removed or added during machine replenishment the unit will record it. Any discrepancy or shrinkage will be highlighted giving a new level of integrity to the cash audit.
By monitoring the change coming in and out of the unit in conjunction with the sonar accuracy in a solution referred to as Autofloat, MEI has shown that on the bulk of sites the unit can manage down the amount of coins tied up in change to around 60 per cent of change capacity. The exact change light is still kept off, the consumer still gets the right change yet cash is freed up that would otherwise be dead to the operation for either banking or use elsewhere within the business.
With 800,000 CashFlow® 7000 units in operation worldwide, MEI´s coin manager is a reliable and proven product that will securely monitor cash, deliver change to the consumer whilst minimising the money tied up in the machine.
