A new system, claimed to be unique, has been developed by OmniVend, a supplier and operator of a network of electronic vending systems, that allows multiple products to be ‘vended' (sold by unattended kiosk). Products that can be sold by this method include mobile phone top-up, international call credit, mobile phone content (games/ringtones/ logos/text alerts), redeemable gift vouchers and coupons, cinema/concert tickets, travel tickets, bill pay and cash collection.
The machine accepts cash and prints a voucher that is then redeemed to activate the product. For printing, the system incorporates two TUP992 printers from international printer manufacturer, Star Micronics.
Supplied by DED, the TUP992 is a two-colour kiosk printer capable of output at a fast 150mm per second and is designed to accommodate either 15cm or 25cm paper rolls, and in a range of thicknesses. For additional flexibility, it has an automatic paper loading facility with a ‘lift and tilt' mechanism.
