RPC Tedeco-Gizeh is the local choice for AVS
Published:  30 September, 2008

RPC Tedeco-Gizeh UK has been chosen as sole supplier of disposable plastic vending cups to Associated Vending Services (AVS), a group of 26 independently owned professional vending businesses trading from 42 locations across the United Kingdom and Ireland.

With a wealth of industry experience, AVS offers customers a truly independent opinion on the best vending equipment for both single and multi-site needs. Working with all leading suppliers of vending machines, it is vital that AVS can deliver high quality cup solutions and it was for this reason that the group turned to RPC Tedeco-Gizeh.

"Consistent and trouble-free performance of these products are quite frankly critical to the operation of our vending businesses - it really doesn't matter how inexpensive these products are if they do not perform properly!" explains Brian Tustain, Chief Executive of AVS. "We subsequently chose RPC Tedeco-Gizeh for the quality performance of their cups, their diverse product range and environmentally friendly disposal options, and the knowledge of a dedicated and experienced production staff, backed by a highly professional sales and support team."

The three-year deal - involving a total estimated volume of over 500 million cups in various styles and sizes - will be co-ordinated by RPC Tedeco-Gizeh's site in Port Talbot, Wales, ensuring that all manufacturing and distribution is localised for ease of service and reduced environmental impact.

"During the past few years, the whole team at RPC Tedeco-Gizeh UK has worked extremely hard to develop and maintain the business standards and product quality expected by professional vending operators and buying groups such as AVS," comments Sara Williams, Sales Manager at RPC Tedeco-Gizeh UK. "We are delighted that this hard work and determination has paid off with the new deal. AVS has an impressive track record in vending and we are looking forward to a long and fruitful partnership. That said, we will never become complacent. We're always looking to learn and improve in order to maintain RPC Tedeco-Gizeh's position as the market leader for vending cups in the UK."

Brian Tustain explains: "The AVS Cup Committee, comprising of myself, Steve Gallagher (MD of Gem Vending), Peter Wilkes (MD of Wilkes Group, Wakefield) and John Broderick senior (Manchester Vending) and under the direction of David Clough, AVS Group Purchasing Manager, spent several months putting together a tender process, which included a number of factory visits across Europe, to ensure the ability to supply of tendering companies.

"Evaluation of the quality performance of the products, critical analysis of a wide criteria of relevant issues before we got down to the tender process, was instigated. We subsequently chose RPC Tedeco Gizeh for a number of reasons. Quality performance, range versus price were the key ones, coupled with the knowledge of their dedicated and experienced main factory based in Kenfig South Wales."

Brian continued: "We were especially impressed with the investment RPC are currently making into research and development for a new and improved product range. Again, the cup, and it's variety of styles, sizes and environmentally friendly disposal options set them apart from the others! Finally, the ability to do business with a UK-based manufacturing business where transportation costs and carbon footprint, against purchasing outside the UK, played a further consideration."
