AstroSystems, the European division of currency validation specialist Astrosys International, continues to make successful inroads with the GBA ST1 bank note validator.
The Global Bill Acceptor (GBA) range of bank note validators is currently evolving and the GBA ST1 is the first of a new family of products. Steve Priest (pictured, right), Sales Manager, explained: "By listening closely to our customers we are producing a new range of products that meet actual market requirements, and are confident that our new line of bill acceptors will keep AstroSystems at the forefront of cost effective, secure, currency validation".
Steve continued: "The GBA ST1's modular architecture and secure cashbox design are proving to be key talking points. The ability to dis-assemble the unit and then re-assemble it within 30 seconds has been a winner with service technicians, as has the ability to re-configure the GBA ST1 from upstacker to downstacker operation with only the change of the front fascia".
It has been identified that there is a growing need for additional note security, therefore having a lockable, and secure note cassette has allowed the GBA ST1 to progress into applications which demand security as a priority. The unique design of the note cassette draws notes within the cassette housing, where an internal plate then punches the notes into the storage space. Unlike other note cassettes, there is no direct access to the note storage space once the cassette has been removed from the main chassis, which prevents note pilfering - a common form of theft.
The GBA ST1 has a family of models, offering a variety of robust note stacking options. There are the contempary upstacking and downstacking configurations and an interesting horizontal presentation, which allows the GBA ST1 to be laid down horizontally and secured to the front panel of its host, without the need for any internal shelving. The note cassette is then easily accessible as is the entire main chassis, which can be simply removed from its supporting bracket.
The most recent addition to the GBA ST1 is a true 1000 note cassette, which can hold up to 1000 street grade notes in a lockable note canister, whilst at the other end of the scale, the GBA ST1 can be configured to be situated in depths as limiting as 10cm in order to accommodate slim-line machine designs.
Flashing note guides have been introduced to provide more obvious and user friendly interaction whilst an innovative new discrimination method, "Sense Technology", provides high level acceptance of true notes whilst maintaining security against counterfeit and fraud attempts.
With one model being able to offer multiple interfaces, global currency configurations and higher security, the GBA ST1 has exceeded expectations for its universal appeal, delivering performance and functionality previously restricted to top end note validators, at a price to suit most budgets.
Steve commented: "We are conscious of the fact that every application is different. Therefore, we take the time to talk with our customers and understand their own particular requirements. By doing this, we can then offer the best solution to them in terms of the GBA Model, its interfacing and currency required. Understanding the customer's needs and applying the best-fit solution is our principal focus".
