Germany thanks ‘our' Roger
Published:  10 July, 2008

At its Annual Conference in Hamburg, the German Vending Association (BDV) honoured Roger Williams, founder and owner of successful operating company Coinadrink, for his contribution to the foundation and establishment of the European Vending Association.

At the beginning of the 1990s, when the BDV pushed ahead with the foundation of the EVA, (which was created from its predecessor, the European Federation of Vending Associations (EFVA), Roger Williams, representative of the AVA, managed to convince eurosceptics among other national associations of the necessity to set up the EVA as the industry's European representation based in Brussels.

In his laudatory speech, Michael Maurer, spokesman of the BDV-Executive Board, highlighted Roger Williams' contribution to improving the image and the influence of the industry's European association, and made particular mention of the many years that Roger has spent as Treasurer and President of the EVA. Michael said that Roger Williams' considerate and friendly demeanour has made a significant contribution to the successful co-operation between the national vending associations at European level.
