Change is on the horizon says one UK machine manufacturer whose new tea brewer replicates traditional tea-making methods for the perfect cuppa. "Traditional tea, made by hand, is a simple process so why mess with a successful technique? That's the design philosophy behind our unique brewer which produces as cup of tea as if it were made at home", comments Mark Rhodes, Marketing Manager at Westomatic.
"Unlike coffee, tea does not need hot water forced through the ingredient in order to extract flavour and create a richer taste. Tea requires a more gentle brewing process and so we use an atmospheric pressure to infuse the leaves. This ensures that the tea is not over-stewed by the pressure or burnt by the water temperature".
The brewer, which now features in Westomatic's Prelude table-top and the new Sigma free-standing hot and cold beverage machine, is arguably one of the most advanced of its kind: Incorporating superior materials, the permanent filter (which works like a tea bag) can be quickly and easily removed for cleaning which reduces waste and improves routine cleaning time.
"If there is one thing we Brits know it's a good cup of tea" emphasised Mark, "but brands have a role to play in the customers' decision making process which is why our free-standing hot beverage machine features customisable graphics which offer ample branding opportunities to help maximise beverage sales.
"The standard of the tea from the new brewer is second to none; this machine caters for a market which traditionally, has been neglected by the vending industry and we now have the opportunity to win-over'.
