Vision, the glass-fronted merchandiser from Jofemar, has eschewed traditional spiral dispense in favour of a patented elevator delivery system, which the company is calling SmartVend®.
The problem with spirals is that they can be unreliable in operation and release products by dropping them -sometimes several feet - into the delivery chamber. This does not suit delicate or ‘high ticket' items and even carbonated drinks do not respond well to such treatment.
By comparison, the Jofemar solution comprises two patented dispense systems, which gently deliver products to the customer without dropping or shaking. Following product selection, the SmartVend elevator arm moves seamlessly into place below the selected product. Then the product is moved onto the elevator arm by means of another Jofemar innovation, the EasyFlex® conveyor delivery system. SmartVend then gently delivers the vended item to the product delivery tray, which is conveniently sited at waist height.
Throughout the dispense process, which takes on average just ten seconds, the product is never dropped or agitated. This makes it very suitable for higher value items, such as delicate food products like sandwiches, yoghurt or fruit. In addition, this new delivery method increases channel capacity by at least 20 per cent when compared with spiral vendors.
The Vision is equipped with one of the most advanced chiller units on the market. It has a temperature range of 3-9°C, which may be accurately set in half degree increments. The machine can be easily divided into chilled and ambient zones, adjustable at three different heights.
The Vision offers flexible configuration and programming, with up to eight height-adjustable universal trays and seven channels in each to stock different product formats. The interior space may be sub-divided and each channel adjusted to the particular dimensions of each product. ‘First-in, first-out' product selection alternates delivery between channels linked through programming. Additionally, there is an energy saving feature which turns off the display lights during non-operational periods.
As with all Jofemar machines, materials used are robust, long-lasting and vandal-resistant, incorporating all the latest technological advances in vending technology, such as Jofemar's J-2000 5-tube change giving coin mechanism with T-15 validator. The Vision is ready programmed for telemetry with options to fit banknote reader and chip ‘n' pin card reader.
Speaking about the new technology, General Manager of Jofemar UK, Vassilis Gotsis, said: "We are delighted with the new Vision. This is a smart looking machine with the capability to take vending to a new level."
