Total temperature control all year round!
Published:  18 June, 2008

Most operators recognize the importance of planograms and working with the right brands when it comes to snack and confectionery vending, but selection of the right equipment and refrigeration system can make all the difference in terms of product quality and levels of customer satisfaction.

While the majority of traditional snack vending machines maintain a chilled temperature based on the ambient air temperature surrounding the machine, Westomatic has identified a main drawback that the cabinet temperature fluctuates as ambient conditions vary which can have an adverse effect on the product, quality of snacks and confectionery.

With summer with us, in theory at least, Westomatic's SnackPoint range benefits from its innovative and precise total temperature control system. Simply programme the temperature that's best suited to the snacks and confectionery and let the machine do the rest. Product quality is effectively ensured thanks to the SnackPoint's foam injected cabinet and door, triple glazing and a high specification refrigeration system that ensures variation in cabinet temperature is minimal, even in conditions of up to 32°C and 65 per cent humidity.

The SnackPoint also scores highly in terms of its green credentials, as Mark Rhodes, Marketing Manager from Westomatic explains: "Unlike traditional snack merchandisers which waste energy chilling and continually re-circulating air throughout the whole cabinet interior, the SnackPoint range delivers chilled air exactly where it is needed; around the products from patented side elevations. This means the refrigeration unit doesn't have to work as hard and results in reduced running costs and valuable energy savings, and because there is no dramatic change in temperature on the glass, condensation is dramatically reduced leaving product visibility is second to none".

Available in several sizes, the SnackPoint range includes a compact and convenient ‘Trio', with just 252 products, up to machines which can accommodate up to 470 products including sandwiches, cans, pasties, yoghurts, smoothies, confectionary, bottles and snacks. ‘Triple zone' temperatures also mean it is possible to hold crisps, confectionery, sandwiches and yoghurt safely in the same machine.
