2008 is to be a year of hard work, activity, and renewal - or, at least, that is what the Chinese say about the Year of the Rat! The EVA started off with a new Executive Committee and new officers, while Arnaud van Amerongen, the new President, Hubert Boyer, Vice-President, and Michael Maurer, Treasurer, will be presiding over a highly charged agenda.
They all have the challenging task of leading the association into a new era. The President has identified some of the challenges that the EVA will need to tackle: improving the image of vending, a better trade show policy, and building strategic alliances with other associations and industries.
He has also underlined the importance of conveying the positive vending story, and the benefits gained by membership to the EVA, both for existing and prospective members. Indeed, at its first meeting, the new Executive Committee recognised that, while the EVA is performing a wide range of tasks, members are not always aware of the quantity and quality of the EVA's work, and do not necessarily take full advantage of their membership.
When we conducted our satisfaction survey this year, the membership benefit which ranked highest in members' views was the access to the members-only web pages, where there are over 400 documents available for members' eyes only!
The EVA is the voice of the vending industry in Brussels, and we need your contribution and support to make it loud and clear!
