British water hit by lack of summer!
Published:  13 March, 2008

Bottled Water has been severely hit by the lack of a summer in 2007 - the wettest summer since 1789. According to Zenith International, consumption of bottled water in the UK stood at 2,255 million litres in 2007 in comparison to a much higher 2275 million litres the year before!

However, it is vital to stock not just any bottled water but British bottled water as more and more people favour natural, locally sourced foods and drinks. There is an appeal in the dual messages of drinking local water to help British jobs and enterprise while opting for the relatively low mineral levels of British water that makes them safe and healthy for just about everyone.

Abbey Well Natural Mineral Water comes from a single, naturally protected, underground source in Northumberland, where the air is so good that you can almost taste it, falling as rain or snow before the age of pollution. Every drop has been naturally filtered through 315 million-year-old white sandstone for at least 3000 years.

This is why Abbey Well claims to deliver a delicious clean, refreshing taste in every glass, resulting in a fast rate of sale. As one of the brand leaders in foodservice*. Abbey Well is recognised and appreciated by consumers in all sectors of the market.

By stocking Abbey Well in a vending machine, operators can take advantage of the growing awareness about provenance and ‘naturalness' which drives buying choices.   *AC Neilson 2004
