The Kenco Coffee Company has announced the launch of Kenco Pure Costa Rican and Kenco Pure Colombian to its sustainably sourced range of vending products.
Like the Kenco Sustainable Development range, all of the beans in Kenco Pure varieties are sourced from Rainforest Alliance CertifiedTM farms. The launch is in response both to the increasing demand for sustainably sourced products and the consumer desire for super-premium coffee.
Kenco has been making high quality coffee for over 80 years and learned that fine coffee, like wine, tells the story of its origin in every sip. That's why Kenco Pure varieties are made only from beans grown in one, country unlike most instant coffees which are a mixture of beans from a variety of countries. Kenco Pure Costa Rican is made entirely with beans from Costa Rica, while Kenco Colombian uses beans sourced solely from Colombia.
For nearly 15 years, Kenco's parent company Kraft Foods has been working in partnership with non-governmental organisations on sustainability initiatives around the world. The partnership with the Rainforest Alliance is the latest of these and helps to provide farmers and their communities with environmental, social and economic benefits. Only farms that protect the environment, the welfare of workers and the interests of coffee-growing communities are awarded Rainforest Alliance certification.
Chris Wille, Chief of Sustainable Agriculture for the Rainforest Alliance, welcomed the new offers: "Single origin coffees show a real commitment to farmers and recognition of the unique flavours and quality of the coffee they grow. By continuing to invest in sustainable farming practices by buying beans from Rainforest Alliance Certified farms, The Kenco Coffee Company is helping communities in Costa Rica and Colombia build a better future for themselves and their children."
Kenco Pure Costa Rican will be exclusively available in 300g vending bags, when taken with Kenco's Elevation package, while both Kenco Pure Colombian and Kenco Pure Costa Rican will be available in Kenco's In-Cup formats from this month.
Ashley Neal, Director of Sales at The Kenco Coffee Company, comments: "These fantastic new additions to Kenco's existing sustainability portfolio give our customers more choice to offer their clients and bring more quality variants to the consumer".
