The EVA is launching new web pages on two major issues that are high on the EU (and worldwide) political agenda: health and the protection of the environment.
The two pages aim to disseminate the initiatives taken by EVA members on healthy lifestyles and the protection of the environment. This is a window for the vending stakeholders, EU and governmental institutions, the general public, and the press, to see how the vending industry is already at the forefront of these issues.
Healthy lifestyle initiatives
The EVA is a founder member of the European Platform on Diet, Physical Activity and Health (DPAH). Under the aegis of the DPAH, the EVA made a commitment to promote initiatives taken by the EVA members that contribute to the pursuit of healthy nutrition and physical activity. The EVA team has collated and processed all the information provided by members on this topic and put it into a web page.
Environmentally-friendly initiatives
The EVA undertook a similar initiative to collate information on ‘Green Vending' actions. This is also now available on the EVA Website.
By gathering positive initiatives, the EVA wishes to use its most proactive members as propellers for the whole industry and to encourage more vending players to integrate health and the protection of the environment in their policies and operations. The association is keen to illustrate that what might be perceived as threats can also be taken as opportunities to do more and better business and to attract new customers. Furthermore, in the area of environment, there are clear examples where environmentally-friendly policies can go hand in hand with cost-cutting.
The new pages can be found at the Menu> Activities>Diet and Nutrition>healthy initiatives and Menu> Activities> Environment.
