A K Muller launch new hot water boiler valve
Published:  20 January, 2008

A K Muller (UK) Ltd have further extended their range of boiler valves with a new anti-limescale version. Their Commercial Manager, Tim Barker, explains: "Our engineers took the industry standard 46.000 series boiler valve and dramatically redesigned the internal parts to combat the build up of lime scale. Firstly, the valves inlet has been increased in diameter and internally slopes towards the valve chamber.

This is to eliminate the possibility of air being trapped in the inlet which can be a cause of scale build up. The membrane has also been similarly angled and also now features a rubber ‘tail' which is vibrated during the valves closing, shaking off any drips that could otherwise lead to scale forming between the valve seat and the flow adjuster. This ‘tail' is angled specifically to optimize performance. The third change is to raise the special PTFE valve seat and modify its profile to prevent larger scale particles becoming trapped in this critical area. The combination of these features coupled with our boiler valves long established reputation in the field should increase service life yet further, which ultimately is not only a cost saving but ensures that the machine's reputation is upheld."
