Magnet Schultz double latching solenoid locks without power
Published:  20 January, 2008

Difficulties locking vending machines without power can be quickly and easily resolved with a new double latching solenoid by Magnet Schultz Ltd, market leader in the manufacturer of specialist solenoid actuators and mechanisms. Called the MGPU 019, the solenoid is a versatile device combining lightweight, compact design with excellent functionality.

The MGPU 019 comprises a permanent magnet surrounded by two coils with a locking pin projecting from each end of the armature. The solenoid operates by momentarily energising one coil to engage the pin and then energising the second coil to reverse the process. Power consumption is extremely low as the permanent magnet provides the ‘latching' effect.

Available in any voltage the MGPU019 is supplied by Magnet Schultz in 6, 12, and 24v DC as standard. The company's in house design team is able to advise on any applications and can supply a complete assembly, incorporating the MGPU 019.
