Leading coffee brand Douwe Egberts has announced that it will be increasing its support for vending operators following the end of its distribution partnership with Aimia Foods. From October, Douwe Egberts, which launched a new range of freeze dried instant coffee products for the vending industry in August, will become the first point of contact for businesses looking to implement any of its premium coffee products.
Olivier Kutz, Brand Manager at Douwe Egberts Coffee Systems UK, commented: "Aimia Foods has been distributing our vending products for a number of years, however with the launch of our new premium instant coffee range we felt that the time was right to develop the level of support offered to operators. By having Douwe Egberts as the first point of contact, businesses will benefit from an increased level of support on all aspects of their vending operations. Over the next few months, we will be working closely with Aimia Foods to phase out their distribution of our brand, which will minimise any disruption to operators, wholesalers and existing end user clients."
Douwe Egberts has a range of products suitable for the vending sector, all of which are available directly from Douwe Egberts' special Vendline (0844 257 1070). Customers can select from a new range of premium freeze dried instant products, espresso beans and Freshbrew.
Earlier this year, Douwe Egberts announced the launch of a new high quality instant coffee range for the vending industry. The new range caters for coffee drinkers in the workplace, healthcare, travel and leisure and education sectors and offers customers a premium range of freeze dried blends including Douwe Egberts Pure Gold - currently the fastest growing freeze-dried instant coffee brand in the retail sector - Douwe Egberts Original, Douwe Egberts Good Origin and Douwe Egberts Decaf, all of which are now available in 10 x 300 gram packs.
Pure Gold, the flagship product in Douwe Egberts' new range, is made from a blend of the finest coffee beans. It is roasted to give a medium and well-balanced flavour, making it the ideal trade-up for vending operators and consumers alike.
Douwe Egberts' Good Origin brand has been extended to the vending range to offer customers an ethical option when choosing a hot beverage. Good Origin coffee is 100 per cent Utz Certified, which guarantees that the coffee was produced with respect of the living conditions of coffee farmers and the natural environment, allowing farmers to increase their revenue whilst driving quality. Good Origin is traceable from farm to cup using the Utz online tracer, giving customers complete visibility of what difference the certification makes at farm level.
The Douwe Egberts Original blend is positioned as an entry-level offering within in the new range, providing customers with a cost-effective product which does not impact on the quality of the beverage. Finally, Douwe Egberts Decaf is the company's decaffeinated option, which provides maximum taste and aroma, but is 99.9 per cent caffeine free.
Olivier Kutz added: "People who drink coffee now require a product that is high-quality no matter where it is served from. All of the products in our vending portfolio are made using premium coffee beans, ensuring a high-quality cup of coffee each time. We are extremely proud of our new freeze dried instant range and believe that the four brands available offer a choice for all areas of business without impacting on excellence, giving consumers the same quality reassurance they experience at home."
