Seaga UK, in association with Very Italia SRL and EWExport, used the AVEX show to introduce the exciting new concept of frozen pasta to the UK & International vending market. Having developed its proven frozen food vendor, the VC1100, to accommodate frozen pasta pots from Very Italia, Seaga UK undertook an extensive taste test at the show.
Said Seaga's International Sales Director, Gary Partridge: "We were extremely impressed by the range and taste of this innovative range of pasta when we visited the factory in Italy led by EWExport that has substantial vending knowledge of European markets, but wanted to confirm the product was suited to the British taste and AVEX was an ideal opportunity. We are incredibly pleased that the results exceeded our expectations and generated significant interest in this new vending opportunity."
With the different flavours being taste tested extensively over the two days it achieved an average rating of 7.9/10 for the range, with anticipated favourites of Fusilli alla Carbonara, Fusilli Mozzarella e Basilico and Polpette in Salsa di Pomodoro achieving over 8/10. These flavours were key favourites, as well as Mezze Penne alla Puttanesca (spicy tomato, anchovies, capers) a close 4th.
The al dente taste of Italy was well received and nearly 90% of testers confirmed they would buy the same product again or try another flavour. With only natural flavours this product satisfies the need for a healthy and filling lunch or snack, providing afternoon energy.
The VC1100, with an attractive ‘Very Italiano' graphic wrap, glass front for optimum merchandising and proven frozen food vending technology, this NAMA approved machine is the ideal machine to offer this exciting new product.
AVEX 2009 - What a show
After all the work and stress of preparing for a major show it was a pleasure to be part of a booth that was busy from opening to closing. As Vicki Armstrong-Smith, Sales & Marketing Manager of Seaga UK, explained: "The combination of our range of snack & beverage machines to suit all locations, the introduction of the innovative range of coffee machines from Saeco and the taste testing the new vending sensation, Frozen pasta, we had something of interest for all visitors. To be so busy and to take orders at the show made all the work and stress so worthwhile."
The range of compact vendors (SL3100, VC520 & HF3500) were of considerable interest to operators looking to target smaller locations or new operators starting out in vending, with special offers generating orders at the show and since. Operators who have already experienced the performance & reliability of the Seaga SP range were extremely impressed by the possibilities offered by a graphic wrap and could see the potential to increase sales, with a sexy & attractive machine.
The joint Seaga/Cadbury project of introducing Trident Gum vending machines opened up new vending opportunities and created many enquiries for this low-cost, high margin vending opportunity.
To complement the extensive range of snack and cold beverage machines Seaga UK was very pleased to announce the exclusive UK distribution of the Saeco range of vending and professional machines. This range, offering a number of very interesting innovations, particularly in the area of engineer accessibility & consumer interface provides a perfect hot beverage solution for vending combinations. Following the success of AVEX Seaga UK has decided to extend its combination offers (Seaga combi machine + Saeco Coffee machine) to orders taken by July 1st, with the promo code of SEAGA-AVEX-2009.
Visitors to the Seaga UK booth were able to enjoy a fantastic Italian coffee, prepared by Geanaro of Mocca Coffee, using the Saeco Professional ‘Idea' machine, which generated many comments of "What a wonderful cup of coffee." For many, they also participated in the AVEX Taste Test of the exciting new vending opportunity, Frozen Pasta through the Seaga VC1100 Frozen Food Vendor. With the approval rating exceeding expectations this new vending opportunity provides an interesting and profitable new range for operators to expand their offering to clients.
Said Tracy Williams, Seaga UK Managing Director, "After all the bad news in the press it was a credit to the vending industry that visitors were extremely motivated and positive, with a focus on identifying machines and products to open up new vending opportunities."
