The Kenco stand highlighted the very latest initiatives with which Kraft Foods and Kenco brand have been involved, together with how existing initiatives are developing.

The company is working to ensure that sustainability is part of every business decision so initiatives it undertakes are environmentally, socially and economically responsible.

This approach to sustainability focuses on the key areas that have the greatest impact on Kenco's business: ethical sourcing, packaging reduction and recyclability and energy reduction and efficient resource use. At the show the Kenco team demonstrated its progress towards sourcing all beans from Rainforest Alliance CertifiedTM farms. Now at least 75% of the beans Kenco source for its Kenco freeze-dried range come from Rainforest Alliance CertifiedTM farms, and 100% of the beans it sources for its Kenco Singles filter coffee Kenco range come from Rainforest Alliance CertifiedTM farms. In addition all Suchard Hot Chocolate Drink products contain cocoa sourced only from Rainforest Alliance CertifiedTM farms.

Also on display for the first time was Kenco's latest equipment livery promoting ethically sourced product. The new livery is available across Kenco's In-Cup, Kenco Singles and table top ranges and decals and fascias are available for most post mix machines.

At the show all Kenco's used  paper cups could be disposed of into a Save-A-Cup recycling bin. Save-A-Cup working with The Paper Cup Recovery and Recycling group, which Kraft is a founder member, can now collect paper cups and send them to a paper mill for recycling. For further details contact Save-A-Cup on 01494 510167.

Quality has always been key to Kenco's success and Kenco are experts in all areas of coffee from sourcing, roasting and blending to serving great coffee! At the show Kenco offered everyone the chance to improve their coffee skills with Stuart Haden, the Kenco head barista, available for barista training. During the show Kenco held a barista competition where contestants could show-off and test there skills. Kenco awarded their ‘Best Barista at Avex' title to Marie Caulfield of Autobar. Marie won a plasma TV & dvd player for her efforts. Well done Marie!

Stuart Haden commented: "We had a great standard of entry at the show and plenty of contestants, but Marie achieved both a great looking drink and a perfect taste too!"
