Chester's funky DEE 106.3 radio teamed up with local bakery P A Davies and California raisins to help publicise California Raisins £1,000 holiday to the United States last month.
Chester-based bakery P A Davies, who were promoting their range of hot cross buns for Easter using California Raisins - managed to attract the help of local DJ Mike James who mentioned the promotion live on air during an interview with Simon Hazlett from P A Davies and California Raisins' Marketing Director Peter Meadows.
The promotion offered a holiday worth £1,000 to purchasers of a pack of 4 hot cross buns with succulent California Raisins. On each pack was a sticker which asked buyers 2 questions plus a tie break for a chance to win a holiday worth £1,000 to the US.
"DEE 106.3 picked up the story and were really quick to help us promote it on air," said Simon Hazlett, Managing Director of P A Davies who celebrated its centenary in 1999.
Packs of Hot cross buns were sent to DEE 106.3 and DJ Mike James was quick to mention the promotion to around 36,000 listeners in the Chester region. The radio support undoubtedly boosted sales and entrants into the competition.
