Westomatic's mains fed water dispenser taps into new business opportunity
Published:  03 April, 2009

Leading UK vending machine manufacturer Westomatic Vending Services Ltd has developed the Azure mains fed water dispenser for businesses that want to capitalize on the increasing demand for quality water products. The innovative mains fed technology was developed by Westomatic's engineers to provide operators with a business opportunity that taps into the demand for healthier lifestyles and the need for environmentally friendly vending solutions.

Unlike traditional bottled water coolers, the Azure provides an unlimited supply of pure still or sparkling twice-filtered, ‘bottled at source' quality water at the touch of a button. This gives the Azure dual appeal. Facilities managers appreciate the low maintenance qualities of the Azure which removes the hassle of bulk water deliveries and storage, and avoids the health and safety issues associated with lifting heavy water bottles. While end-users welcome a constant supply chilled water, no matter how high the demand, thanks to the Azure's high capacity filters and flash cooling technology. It is especially popular with schools, colleges, universities and leisure centres, etc.

The Azure is easy to set up and maintain, with simple menu-driven programming and robust design. Operators can measure machine trends and monitor performance using USB or telemetry technology. An advanced ultraviolet (UV) water purification system ensures water is free from impurities and removes any worries about mains water quality, enabling it to be installed anywhere. In-built Brita or 3M filters remove scale deposits, maintain PH neutral and remove unpleasant tastes and odours for a superior drink quality.

With an optional 500ml bottle-fill facility and eye-catching back-lit graphics featuring household brand names such as Brita, 3M and Del Monte, and the extra large 630 automatic cup-dropper (with 7oz or 9oz plastic cups) the Azure is a popular edition to any chilled beverage service.

Maximize business potential with flavoured water options

In line with the current trend for flavoured water, the Azure can have any combination of up to two delicious real fruit flavours (in still and/or sparkling) such as, Del Monte Orange, Del Monte Apple & Raspberry, Peach & Apple, Blackcurrant & Pear or Strawberry & Kiwi.

Environmentally friendly

A recent reports suggest that global sales of bottled water have leapt by 57 per cent in a decade. Yet, only one quarter of all plastic in the UK is recycled.  Westomatic's Azure provides the bottled water ‘experience' without producing a new bottle every time you want a drink. The Azure lets you choose your tableware with a sensor that allows filling of cups, 500ml bottles and jugs. It will save on greenhouse gas production, oil consumption in both the production of the bottle and product hauling and delivery; eliminate empty bottle waste and so on.

Mark Rhodes, Marketing Manager at Westomatic comments: "In today's economic and environmental climate, bottled water is a luxury neither consumers, nor the planet, can afford. Many eco-conscious organizations do not want to sacrifice the Earth's health for something that can easily be acquired through a high capacity point-of-use water dispenser. By offering an economical and environmentally-friendly alternative to bottled water (but with all the benefits), businesses can maintain their share of the water market and provide an essential service."

The Azure's green credentials also include low-energy, long-life LED lighting. A flash cooling system means power is only consumed when a water selection is made - no more permanent refrigerated tanks or gas compressors consuming electricity 24 hours a day. Recycled materials are used wherever possible, all machines are delivered in re-useable cases, packaging-free, while UK manufacturing means shorter logistic paths resulting in a reduced carbon footprint.
