Lavazza at Pinktober

Three years ago Hard Rock Cafe Europe were looking to improve their coffee experience and establish a corporate partner that was Pan European; Lavazza was the perfect fit. Three years on and Lavazza coffee is now served in the majority of Hard Rock’s EU Corporate Cafes.

Lavazza participates in the active training of Hard Rock staff in the countries it partners. Both parties feel that this is vital to the success of the partnership as Hard Rock and Lavazza both place a lot of value on training and service and so invest heavily in training practices and procedures.

Pinktober

This year’s Pinktober evening raised £60,000 for The Caron Keating Foundation. Lavazza supported the event (along side other corporate partners) and all the after dinner coffees were supplied by Lavazza (Lavazza also supports the VIP areas for Hard Rock Calling in Hyde Park – the outdoor music event that takes place every summer). At this year’s event Lavazza had a table of 10 in the heart of the Natural History Museum. Highlights included the resident dinosaur, a photo with Gloria Hunniford and music from Beverley Knight and Bonnie Tyler, as well as a delicious three course meal, champagne and canapés. The Lavazza group was a mix of Lavazza staff, clients, PR representatives and top trade media contacts including Vending International.

The Caron Keating Foundation – is a family run charity in Caron’s memory to support all types of cancer causes.

Caron was first diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 1997 when she was in her mid 30s. At that time, she was a much loved TV personality, having presented programmes such as Blue Peter, This Morning, Top of the Pops and Entertainment Today. Tragically, Caron lost her tenacious battle with cancer in 2004 and subsequently the family set up a fund in Caron’s name – The Caron Keating Foundation – which gives grants to all types of cancer charities.

The Caron Keating Foundation makes a considerable difference to many individuals and families affected and dealing with cancer. This is done by assisting small but significant cancer charities who finance professional carers, treatment centres and support groups. It’s a family run Foundation with Gloria Hunniford as the administrator and their only costs are two part time secretaries, meaning that almost all the money raised goes directly to the projects.

The aim is to give a significant number of grants to small charities throughoutBritain, as opposed to trying to raise money towards huge building projects or research which involves millions. They try to make a difference by helping to fund pieces of machinery which detect faster, counselling services, many different types of hospice care, both at home and in the Hospice itself; drivers to take cancer patients to and from treatment centres; complementary therapies to help with pain control and bereavement counseling.
