Huhtamaki UK achieves ISO 50001 energy management certification

huhtamakiHuhtamaki UK has built upon its commitment to improvements in energy efficiency by achieving ISO 50001 certification – the international, cross-industry standard for establishing, implementing, maintaining and improving an energy management system. Recognition for its energy management system and drive to reduce energy consumption was awarded to Huhtamaki following an intense three-day audit of its Gosport-based site.

Catherine Tipper, head of business excellence, Huhtamaki UK, said: “We’re delighted that Huhtamaki UK has achieved ISO 50001 – the formal recognition of our commitment to reducing energy consumption and therefore our impact on the environment. The certification cements our legal compliance to the new ESOS regulations, which will come into force in December 2015, and is a fantastic achievement for our Gosport site.  It represents a great deal of hard work and dedication by a lot of people – in fact, the lead auditor praised everyone involved in the audit for their commitment to continuous improvement, and their extensive knowledge and unending enthusiasm in our quest for energy efficiency.”
