The Eu´Vend 2009 supporting programme: A reflection of “visions and solutions”

Not only does Eu´Vend bring together supply and demand at one location, it also demonstrates new visions and perspectives for the vending sector. The “Vending Worlds” special show dedicates itself to the topic of “Design of vending machines in public indoor spaces”. This entails approaching the question of how to integrate vending machines in public indoor areas. The aim is to improve the integration of vending machines into indoor areas in terms of site selection, design, ergonomics and functionality in order to make these indoor areas more attractive while also providing superior service. We will realize this project in cooperation with a project group from the Cologne University of Applied Sciences (from the Department of Architecture, Interior Design and Facility Design) led by Prof. Gunther Vettermann.

For the second time, Koelnmesse and the BDV will present the international innovation competition “Vending Innovations”. This Europe-wide competition aims to accelerate the development of innovative ideas in the vending industry and so provide sustainable momentum for the further development of the sector’s market. The competition has four categories: technical equipment, devices for optimising the operation of vending machines, concepts and products. The winner of the competition will be selected by an independent international panel of experts and receive the “Vending Star”. In addition, the best new products in this competition will also be displayed in a special show.

The “Visions of Vending” presentation series will this year be devoted to the “European Way of Vending Life”. Renowned European vending experts will present their countries’ trends, tendencies and facts and figures. Highlight of the event: The general figures from the European market survey commissioned by the EVA in Brussels. The presentations will be simultaneously interpreted into German/English.

For the first time, Eu’Vend 2009 will also feature an interview and discussion forum as part of the event programme. Known as “The Red Sofa”, the forum will provide information on current topics by means of interviews, specialist talks and discussions. Among others, the topics on the agenda include school catering, new coffee solutions, new filling products, vending machine innovations, category management for vending machines, new location possibilities for vending machines and the new vocational training courses in the area of vending. The discussion forum will take place on all days of Eu’Vend 2009.

Eu’Vend 2009 will be open daily from 10th to 12th September, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Visitors can access Hall 8 through Entrance North. Admission tickets can be purchased from the online shop at www.euvend.com in advance of the event.
